Wellbeing by the Lakes is a three day festival exploring what it means to be mindful and live well in this fast-paced modern world. A curated blend of expert talks, live performance, meditation, movement sessions, wholesome food and healing therapies taking place at Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester, Dorset from Thursday 19 September – Saturday 21 September 2019.
The festival will bring together a wide-ranging programme to inspire and revitalise, visitors can broaden their knowledge, sample innovative and traditional practices for wellbeing and enjoy a restorative day out. At the heart of the festival will be the unique opportunity to witness the Tashi Lhunpo Monks creating an intricate Medicine Buddha sand mandala over the 3 days. On completion the sand mandala will be displayed before being ritually dismantled and offered to the River Frome.
Visitors can widen their knowledge with inspiring talks on a wealth of wellbeing topics from a collection of expert speakers, authors and practitioners. From Mindfulness, Creative Journaling, Chinese Medicine and modern Aromatherapy there will be lots of subjects to choose from. There will also be a Move & Flow tent which will house a range of classes led by experienced teachers, designed to get bodies stretching and minds unwinding. From different styles of Yoga to classic Pilates and expressive dance techniques, visitors can try a variety of sessions that support overall wellbeing. Alongside all the talks and movement sessions there will also be lots of delicious, wholesome food stalls, a healing therapies area, an art therapy area, live music, sculpture, and much much more!
